HOMEWORK

Expectations about homework vary according to the age and ability of the child.

Children will be provided with additional opportunities to reflect upon and practise skills acquired in school as well as opportunities to extend learning.

At Beenham School, homework tasks aim to:

  • foster and strengthen links between home and school

  • give children the opportunity to develop independence and study skills, in particular to prepare them for education for life.

  • give children the opportunity to practise skills and concepts taught in school.

  • extend school learning, for example through additional research activities related to the curriculum. and the opportunity to present learning in different ways.

Children are encouraged to use IT that is available to them at home when appropriate. We will give opportunities for children to use the computer suite in school if they so request.
